so ever since i sold my 1980 yt125 i have wanted anothre three wheeler. i just bought 2 kawasaki three wheelers for $40! one is a klt160 and the other i think is a klt200. the klt160 is the one im fixing since it is better shape. the 160 has been sitting without a carb or plug but isnt seized. never checked the 200, but it doesnt have a carb and plug in it either. i was told the 160 might need a head, so i might put the 200 motor on the 160 frame since i was told the 200 motor only needed a carb cleaning. they have carbs and a few extra parts that come with them. im really excited to get these and it will save the abuse on my 86 suzuki lt230s since parts are really hard to find for it and it is mint. so im gonna build 1 three wheeler to beat on and probly part out or sell the 200. im picking them up tonight so ill post pictures tonight.

Sat without plugs and carbs? Take a good look inside the best you can. Where were they stored?

one was stored under a car port (klt200) and the klt160 was in the yard, ill check them out when i get them home, im not gonna be too upset if their junk since i only paid $40

There probably not in very good shape if they've sat outside without a carb and plug, that's a recipe for disaster.

Their both 4 stroke. Even being under a car port, moisture got to them. If you don't plan to tear down, I would suggest a little oil in the plug hole when you try to get it running. that will help you build some compression, more then likely you will have some surface rust to deal with in your cylinder. FIRST you need to check for debris in your intake, as soon as you suck some acorns, or whatever in your valve problems will begin. I hope for your sake it was on its compression stroke with both valves closed while it sat.

got the klt160 home and actually got it running! rebuilt the carb but it only runs wide open all the time, gonna take the carb back apart and fix a gasket on it, and figure out if i missed cleaning a jet.

ok ive ridden three wheelers alot, i am a experienced rider, so this story is not because of low experience, its because of machine.

today got it fired up again, was tryin to get it in reverse to back out of the garage, it suddenly shot forward in a wheelie, hit the bench while in a wheelie, and landed on my left knee. it ended up killing itself with oil in the cylinder, i crawled away and layed there for a minute or two thinkin if my knee was completely screwed or not. its not i can walk, it just hurts. if i cant figure out the carb problems with this idk how long im gonna keep it, i love three wheelers but this one might just be too far gone.

Thats why i said be careful. You just brought a monster back from the dead and it attacked.
What you really need to do is tear it down, clean everything up and put it back together right.
That sounds like your throttle got stuck wide open? So make sure your carb is functioning right.
Once again
Be careful. Haha.
