As title says. I've never had this thing running as it had pulled a stud outta the case. So right after I got it I pulled the top end and I saw what was going and I said "I'm gonna sit on this project for a while untill I am not as busy"(I thought I was going to have to split it open to fix it)......That was like 2 months ago ..Since about a week or 2 ago I pulled it off the shelf and thought "I need to get off my lazy ass and do something with this thig before I forget about this thing and it turns it into a expensive paper weight  So last week I got a list put together of what I need, want to do to it, inspect and need to clean on this thing (I HATE cleaning but someone has gotta do it:rolleyes:) But anyhow I fixed the stud ,it only had pulled out 3-4 threads,so what I did is I ran a tap through there and the blew the hole out with my compressor then I got some epoxy and poked some in there with a old nail, and tighted the new stud in it and am letting it dry at the moment. I should also add that I replaced the old stud a 200X stud. So now that that out of the way, I need to find a carburetor for thing so I can run it. I don't mind building a manifold for it as I have access to a tig welder, and all the scrap metal I want, so that isn't a issue(). I was thinking a new 32MM FCR carb off a crf150R dirt bike. Would that be to big?

This motor is rock'n a 61.5mm H/S stroker crank,a 61.74mm 14.20 High compretion methanol piston ,a star burst jug with a quarter inch spacer plate underneathir. What its running for a head set up is a mild port job, over sized valves, heavy duty springs/w heavy duty retainers and a 281 grind C. Norris cam.

Whats left on the list-

Send head off to Mike to have ported. (It IS ported but I think it would run a lot better if it were opened up like this one:naughty: Head on left is what I'd like it to be, and the head on the right is the head that came off it.http://i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff226/snowflakes09/016-1.jpg

Re-chrome the covers, and have the top end polished

Install duel needle bearings in the head.

Re paint senter cases or polish them.

get a NOS Neutral indicator with a new seal

New output shaft seal

Rebuild clutch (Or go with a SL90 manual)

Assemble the top end

Build manifold and buy a carb. (Not sure yet what I'm gonna run) I"m thinking somthing like this http://www.ebay.com/itm/2007-07-Honda-CRF150R-CRF-150-CRF150-150R-RB-Carb-Carburetor-Throttle-/360402549578?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr&hash=item53e9aa7b4a#ht_1299wt_1037

Oh and a new a case saver of course.

I really hate to do say this but my dad says once I go through it and break it in and finish it up I have to sell it:(. (Truck money I guess)

It will be sold RTR with carb/mani assembly. But I guess when I finish it and if it doesn't sell within a 2-3 month period , I may just have to convince to let me keep it. I got BIG plans for this motor if I do get to keep it in the end.:naughty:

I have a open mind so if you have any suggestions Post em up and I'll see if I can tie em into it. ;)

To be continued........

Got all the gaskets and new rings (took FOREVER to find a set). Now its a matter of re-chroming the clutch cover and Me polishing the jug and head.

This thread is long overdue for a update so heres a update...... The good news is, I found a NOS custom lightend 67.6mm Modified H&S crank with matching stroker piston. ( Got a Hell of a good deal on it).Oh and I fixed my stupid mistake on that cylinder dowl and the JB weld should give it a day or so to dry.

Now for the bad......I pulled the clutch cover for a second time and one of the 4 screws holding the pressure plate on was missing, so knowing I didn't want that floating around in my motor and causing all sorts of ruins and havoc. So I then pulled the large main drive gear ,the complete clutch basket assembly and the pull start. After about 5 minutes of pulling those bits and pieces off I picked up that motor and started to shake the live'n hell outta it and then low and behold, the clutch basket screw , a piece of a itty bitty spring, and not one but TWO chewed up thrust washers fell out and onto the bench. So that being that, I figured out where one of the 2 thrust washers went (behind that ball bearing plate I think,I 'm gonna get part break down of the clutch side tomorrow), as for the other Its way too big to go anywhere on the clutch side, and for how chewed up it is, I think its a main shaft thrust washer outta the tranny. Meaning I gotta do what I was trying to avoid.............Split the freak'n cases

So all that outta the way, I think I'm gonna throw this NOS67.6 H&S crank in there, throw a manual clutch on there, and replace that repaired case. It'll hold for good long time, but I want this to be perfect and all well within spec. So if its got wear.. it's outta there!!.

Any recommendations are more than welcome for this build. An yet again this motor may be forsale once again after I'm with the rebuild.

thanks, and until the next time,

Your point?lol. I have other bikes 350x's, 250r's, and many others . This is a project I always wanted to complete, so I do a little here and there to it when I have time. In the end it should make for a nice 70 motor or for a aftermarket frame. ( If it doesn't get sold first.)
