Hey guys, I'm a 350X guy, but my kids are getting older(10 and 7) and I got a scooter for my boy a few months ago and I have been following him around on the atc70 4speed,, sometimes with the girl in front of me on the 70. But I don't want to rag out the 70,, so so so

I need Advice on WHAT bike is good for neighborhood cruising.

The 350X is loud,, and NOT practical for putting around with my kids.

I was thinking of a 200M

Please Your thoughts

Anything 200s based is a real good cruiser able of being fine at 10-40mph. They only ever need plugs and oil changed , the air filter cleaned, and some gear oil thrown on so there easy to take care of... not to mention they dont burn much gas and there low compression ratio makes them pretty quiet ( I know I cant hear one at 70 yards away revved up). If you have or know of a 200m for real cheap then it should be good. 200m is electric start though so thats one more thing that can break. I know everything else can swap from any other 200 but id go with a 200s because they are way more common. Or if you have money and want something big but not too fast a 250es big red would be nice, they go like 45 or 50 tops.

200x is the next best thing down from a 350x. But if you want electric start get one of the heftier models, (200s, m, e, etc.)

A 200x will feel like a powerhouse if he goes from a scooter to it. They can be tamed down pretty quiet with the right exhaust- I've got a SUPERTRAPP on mine and it's relatively quiet as long as I cruise. Of course a bike with a stock pipe is going to be about as quiet as it gets..

I would give some thought to a 110. It will carry you around fine for now and it can be a stepping stone trike for your kids when they get a little bigger. When they are big enough for the 110, then you can think about a 185s or 200s. 110s are cheap. There are tons of parts new and used for them. They are bigger than a 70, but smaller than a 185/200 machine so they take up less space too.

Thanks,,, this bike would be for me and my little girl, to puut puut around the hood, and NOT piss off the neighbors.
I think the big red idea is a good one.

I think the answer to this one is someting like - any of the 4 stroke auto clutch trikes with a stock exhaust that comes up on CL nearby at the right price & condition.

I agree, plus if you get the 84 and up you have reverse which is a big plus when putting with the kids!!!

you might try a 1984 125m I have one comes with electric start, is larger than a 70 but not to terribly bad I have a video with an 11 year old on my 200es and she just looks way to small for it, and a 185 is about the same size vehicle wise as a 200, choice is yours but if you want to make a stepping stone why do a leap to a big red for the lil one. Also I am 5'7" and 210lbs and mine lugs me around just fine plus the 84 has four gears, and a hi lo range, for keeping her at decent speeds

Well that would be great if it was for one of the kids! But I think its for him.

Veal has a good point, Put the boy on the 70 when he outgrows it pass him the 110,maybe the daughter on the 70,Then step up to a 200 and add to the collection. You can never have to many after all.

One other plus for the 110 and 125m is the hi/lo range subtransmission. I am currently training my 7 year old son on a 110. Have been since he was 5. That low range is nice because they can learn proper shifting, when to up shift, when to downshift, etc without the speeds getting out of hand. My 110 has 22" rear tires on it and I would guess it only tops out at about 20mph in 4th-low. Much better way of teaching the young-uns compared to the new machines that are CVT.

My vote is a 110 or 125m. 125m has electric start......
