The guy doesnt know the year. I think its an 85. Can anybody tell me for sure? Also what do you think would be a reasonable price for it? His discription of it says" it needs rings. still starts and runs. has a dg pipe, air shocks. It needs a clutch cable." I dont think its a bad bike for what hes asking for it but I wanted to get opinions on what everyone thinks its worth before making an offer on it. Thanks for any input.

Also, it has gas charged shocks. Not air. The owner doesn't know much about it. That can work to your advantage.
Bottom line, snap it up!

It's worth looking into at that price. Another easy giveaway it's not 85-86 is the rear sprocket and brake rotor are flip-flopped, and the exhaust is on the left

Needs rings means "needs piston/rings/bore and the crank or mains may need work also.
If you want a 2000$ plus money pit, by all means, buy it............

You'll have at least another 250-350 for a topend and thats if you do the work yourself. It also depends it the lower end is good and you don't have to split cases that can get cashy quick. It appears to be a 84 to be judging by the shock linkage setup. Its got a plastic tank also which means no rust but not original it can be a pro or a con depending on how you look at it.
