I am totally amazed - I started piecing together my 85 250r before I left the country in 2003 - I left the build at about 40% completion back then and left for 8 years. I just recently got back a couple months ago and I have been piecin this bike together (thanks to a few folks on here). Its still is missin the torque link bushin for the rear brakes but the fronts are working good so I decided to fire it up. I figured this would ba a painful process involving a helluva lot of kicking but low and behold, on the second kick the damn thing fired up to life and was idling like a champ. Go figure. I took it for a mild spin and it cuts out and coughs in the lower mid range but runs fine on bottom, upper mids. Will post pics on here sooner or later.

Alright - I got around to taking a few pics. Remember this bike is going to be a rider and not a show bike. Lots of used parts on it. No rear fenders yet and it looks like the rear master cylinder maybe shot. I've ridden it sparingly as is has no rear brakes at this time. I included a shot of "make do" torque link bushing which was a piece I could not find.

Here is the touque link bushing I made out of a flange bushing I got at the hardware store. I couldnt find one that had close enough ID and OD sizes so I used a bench grinder to get the OD down to size and put a sleeve on the inside.

Here is another issue I found on my bike - If you look where the grab bar mounts torwards the front on the right you'll see that the thread boss is missing.
