ok i got this 200x from a guy came with 2 extra motors and like 5 wireharnesses. I found a good tranny (which was a 185) and a good topend (which is a 200x) got it running but I think i might have the timing off a little, because it has very little power and sputters at low and high rpms. Im just looking for your guys opinion before i tear off the cdi cover agian to move the chain.

My chain was off 1 tooth on my 200X and it wouldnt even start. I would adjust the CDI plate first a little each way see if that makes a difference. Ill bet it does.

ok i just messed with the spark advance. it was all the way to the front of the trike (if that makes sence) i turned it toward the rear of the trike and it didnt run at all. when its all the way forward the pulser barely touches the black box. well i guess i know what im doing tommorow. also when i had the head and topend off it looks to be new valves and almost new piston in there. :w00t:

Get the manual from the 1st class help section..
Check and properly double check your valve timing then set your ignition timing.
Cam has to be done 1st of course since your CDI runs on it.
Probably off by one tooth on the cam..
If it isn't one, it's the other!!

there are 2 ways to alogn the chain. the cam gear when at TDC and the chain on it should be slightly to the forward of the head casting mark not behing it. if it's behind you will have this issue. it will run, but like doodie. also worn timing giude and tensioneer can cause these sorts of issues.
