hey every one , replaced the head gasket on the 200es the other day , have the head back on , but im just not sure how to set the timing properly , the chains back on the cam, any tips for doing it right ? i dont wanna risk damaging the valves if i timed it wrong

ok what you need to do is make sure your cam is in with lobes facing down. then remove your flywheel bolt and line the keyway up with the notch on the rocker cover. your piston will be at TDC then install your cam gear with the 0 mark lined up with the notch on the rocker cover

Or...You line up the ,, T,,,on the flywheel with the LITTLE groove in the mag case. And the DOT on the cam chain sprocket with the NOTCH on top center of the cam cover. You are now timed,,tighten the cam chain. Set your valves to .003 to .004. You're ready to go! There is a F on the flywheel,very close to the T,It will run on F,,but T is correct. Good luck !
