Just a quick question. I have a friend in WV that is willing to sell me a plastic 84 200S tank. I would just like to know if it would fit my 84 200ES before I buy it and have it shipped. Currently my 200ES metal tank has a small leak. I'm looking to get that fixed but would like to get his plastic tank to use until I get that done. I'm thinking it will work, but just wanted to double check with those that would know for sure. Thanks.

I'm pretty sure the tank won't fit. I won't totally rule it out because the plastic tank may bend enough to fit. The OEM 200es tank mounts a little different than the 200s. if I remember correctly the 200es tank is wider at the mounting points than a 200s.
The 200e ( 82-83 ), 200es ( 84 ) tanks innerchange. I'm thinking the 200m tanks innerchange as well.

both tank are different but interchange. I bought a 185s 2 year ago with a bad tank and install a 200es tank.Look different but fit perfect.

I'll check in the morning if I can remember. But I'm pretty sure the 200S tank comes up short on the mounts, it's alot small as well. 200M tank will interchange though.

Thanks for the information so far guys. :)
Sounds as though it still might be a toss up on the fit right now. I'm not too concerned with looks, more on it being functional so can get riding again until i get my metal tank fixed and finished. If anyone has a 200S tank around, and willing to get some rough measurements on it compared to my 200ES tank, we might get it sorted out then.

That would be great if you could get some measurements for me. Thanks
Some rough measurements of my 200ES tank below to compare.

bump... Does any one else think it will work or not? I am hoping to get this for the middle of next week if it works for a ride I have planned with a couple friends. How about anyone with some measurements? Thanks.

Sorry, I had two kids to watch all day, couldn't get out. I have no plans except tinkering tomorrow though, so I'll check then.
