hey guys, I have a full DG system on my Tri-Z, and I believe some type of performance filter (looks like a K&N). What size jet should I be running? I am in mid NC if that matters. Also, if anyone is going to the Busco Beach ride this weekend and has a few spare jets they could sell me or lend me, that would be fantastic.

OK, none of us know what kinda of carb you have? Stock??? Was the bike running prior to your rebuild with this carb/ pipe /and filter combo?? Make of carb and jets sizes in the carb now?
Dailing in a carb from stock...pipe/motor/air filter....adding a DG usually takes a jump up in the main 1 size.
Add open airfilter with DG on stock motor?? you may need to get 2-3 up sizes in main.
My dealer allows me to exchange...2or3 at a time.

stock carb, I have no idea what jets are in it yet. I got it in its current condition, it runs but its hard to tune. I think I'll take a trip to the local parts store (with the Tri-Z on the trailer hehe) and play with the jetting. I'll have an update soon

Make sure to check the carb and clean it before you go loading it up. Look at the reeds and be sure the gasket is in good condition on the intake. While your cleaning the carb note jets and needle clip position. It should be in the middle position, or someone has adjusted it. Get back to us with the numbers, check floats and slide for wear. It's an 85' stock with an open filter...NO airbox, correct? Whats your mix? 50-32:1. Get some fresh plugs 3max and try and see how far your off before loading up. Rule of thumb more than 1 clip position a change in jet is needed. So you need to know your starting point

It does have the stock airbox, but it has a K&N looking filter in the airbox. has a redish/purple element surrounded by the metal mesh. I'll mess with the carb today after I get my radiator hose.
