I was wondering what spark plug you guys are running in your 250 big reds? I've been running NGK DR6ES-L and Champion RA6HC based on what it says in my manual. But I was looking online tonight and every site I've been to says DR8ES-L or RA8HC. The bike runs fine but the plugs do not last long at all. Just wondering if I'm running the wrong plug?

Thanks

D7EA NGK,,i would not put a champion in it! If it's fouling a 6,I would check your air filter. And expect to be rebuilding, replacing your carb if the problem continues.

The DR8ES-L is the OEM recommended plug..your manual is wrong!! I run them in my 250s and get a full season out of a plug, no problems.

When you say the plugs do not last long, what do you mean? Fouling?? The DR6ES-L is way too cold for here..maybe for Texas heat!!

You may even want to move to the DR9ES-L in the winter for the cold starts..a bit hotter plug to help with the cold weather.

Yes the plug is fouling. Air filter is fine, I'll pick up some new plugs before this weekends ride. I had a feeling the plug might be to cold. As far as running champions, I normally run NGK but could only get a Champion last time(was all the store had). Thanks for the quick answers.

dougspcs- I'll be sure to say hi! LOL
