I would have flipped the R around and leaned them ontop of the cab- with a folded up towel or something between the skidplate and the cab so it doesn't dent/scratch it too badly. Then stack the R ontop of the 4 wheeled contraption.

It's a shame the world is becoming such pussies, if they were tied down tight they will go no where.

Safety straps are to hold thing down..not up!! If anyone of those straps breaks..those machines are killing people!!

Relax a bit man, I understand your concern, but just because something looks dangerous, it doesn't necessarily mean that it is... take for example those ATC things they used to make and some people didn't ride them properly, and well we all know the rest of that story... Same thing with securing a load, some do it correctly, some don't the load itself staying secure has little to do with the "designed position" of the item in question and everything to do with the individual(s) securing it... Besides that, it is after all a Ford Ranger and with 800 or so pounds in the back its not going to hit Mach 1 any time soon...

That being said, I would of let the quad rest the front wheels on the cab and put the R on top of it doggie style If I had to get that load on such a small truck.

Huffie, I hear what you're saying but just a question..you willing to bet your or your family's life that the guy you're following with a rig loaded like that 'did it right'??

I'm not!!

If your asking if I would change lanes, give a little extra space or get around it as soon as possible? Then I would have to answer yes... (meaning no I wouldn't take that bet)

We tried it the doggystyle way and liked this arrangement more. The machines are stable and secure like this. We have loaded them like this many times and have had no issues with them moving around. I also take it easy with them in the back(doesnt go very fast anyway lol).

I put two ATC 70s and a triz in the back of an 05 scion xb. And then drove to Nebraska with it.

One 70 in parts, the other two bikes whole. Z had the suspension dropped and pulled one rear tire.

Oh the delivery days.

I dont see what is so unsafe here? Just because they are standing up does not mean they will fall over.I assume he has more than one one strap on each machine, so they multiple straps would have to break, making it pretty safe in my book. This is not the way I would do it because it is way more work than backing up to one of my trailers, but nothing wrong with it.

I have had some wild looking loadings....if you use common sense and strap things properly, things wont go anywhere. and no matter what the configuration, if a strap breaks, things are gonna get interesting.

You willing to 'assume' and bet your life that Hondaridr did it right as you follow him down some bumpy road?? Remember what ASSUME means??

How about this guy, what's your call on him???

Or this one..'safe in your books'?

How about this..how many senseless deaths occured here. Oh the humanity of it.. Bet this guy thought his load was secure too!!

Seriously though, where does the line get drawn?? No wonder muggles think that off-road toys should be banned..the few people that do this kinda crap make a bad rep for all us others. We should promoting safe habits, not giving high-fives to a guy that stacks his machines on the top of his truck to run on public roads!!

Get this, then he posts his own pics on the internet to save the 'FAIL' site posters from beating him to it!! Too much!!

Hondaridr, get a damn trailer and some common sense!! Y'all the rest of you who were giving him 'ataboys'..think some would ya!!

That's my rant for today!!

Seriously, muggles?? What are you like 12 quoting Harry Potter? This is how things got done before they went out and tried to idiot-proof the world. Do you actually think that because something is in a trailer that it's somehow safer than the back of a pick-up? There's absolutely nothing wrong with the way he chose to load up his rigs, and I really don't see a scenario where the way he loaded up his bikes is a life-or-death situation. I get on the road everyday dodging idiots who are texting, eating, putting on make-up...are they any worse..or better than this? I make it home safely everyday, and it's not because everyone else out there is a good driver. He seems to be aware that he has a load in the back of his pick-up and adjusted his driving accordingly...thats called common sense! The point I'm trying to make is that all you can control are YOUR actions, so get off your soapbox and get off his back....there's no need to be so melo-dramatic!

I'm a professional truck driver of over ten years and in my opinion that doesn't seem too bad. Is it the optimum setup? No, it is not. Is it good enough? Surer than sh!t is in my book. I would drive down the highway like that no problem.

I agree its not the best setup. I would love to have a trailer but until I get one this is how we get to where we are riding. Its called working with what you have and thinking outside the box. We spent over an hour figuring out the best way to situate them and secure them. If my brother and I felt that it was unsafe we would have said forget it.
