Welcome! make sure to get a copy of the manual from monroemike on your trike. adjust your idle & air screws to factory settings & go from there. make to use pressured air to clean out all cavities on our carb.

I would have went with a new carb for a few bucks more than the rebuild kit. I went this route with my 79 110 for the main reason that the oem carb has a press-in pilot jet that was plugged with junk. The rebuild kits come with a screw-in pilot jet that won't work. I'm not sure if your 80 carb will be the same, you will have to check it out once you open it up. My 79 runs great with the cheapo eBay carb

my kit did come with a screw in pilot jet and i pulled the press in pilot jet out with a pair of plyers. the new screw in jet screwed right in just fine. however i havent installed it on the trike yet but the reasembly went just fine. what was the problem with your? would it not screrw into the press in hole? or why wouldnt it work? thanks for the info tho guys.. ill let you all know how it runs on tuesday!!! oh and hey partsmaster hooligan why dont you go power wash that trx400fw?

Well I put it on and fired it up and it runs great but it STILL WON'T IDLE! the reason I rebuilt it in the first place. Wtf. This is really starting to annoy me. I'm tired of pulling on that dang thing! Any tips? Besides just buying a new carb?
