Now that the 86 T3 is finished it’s on to the next project. Going to be building a 500R with caverider, he no longer has access to the internet so I will be posting the progress for ya’ll to follow. In the very early stages of the build yet but we are making some head way. This weekend we rebuild the front forks and did an old ice racing trick to lower the stance of the bike with out changing the rake. Here is the standard fork set up.132765

If you swap the smaller spring for the larger you can make the fork about 2 inches shorter with out sliding the forks up the clamps. You could take this a step further and put both springs on the bottom of the fork lowering it about 5 inches but you will have almost no suspension travel what so ever that way.132766132767132768

Note: This will only work on 85 forks, 86 uses one long spring on the top of the fork tube and one small on the bottom instead of two springs on top and one bottom in 85.

Carlisle trail wolf. Good price and they get the job done, I like the look of them, they are about in inch shorter than stock. Plus if your bigredridr you can run it backwards for better breaking (inside joke).

I have just received the plastics (all black),i will also be utilizing controls from a 2011 kx450f. I wanted to use something new age which allows for custom levers and a more slim feel. I hope to recieve the 10" front rim shortly,as R-TIFACTS has just been kind enough to handle the purchase for me. I will also be sending a seat to Mrs. Mosh for a custom cover. (I WOULDNT SEND IT ANYWHERES ELSE) as her work is absolutely stunning. I would also like to thank R-TIFACTS for creating this thread for me because i am lacking in the tech. dept. and also to bigredrider for his welding/fab skills which has also made this build possible !!! And to all the rest, thanks for the compliments and support during this build. - CAVERIDER

Well after a small funding delay (Something about he had to buy the wife a new car if he wanted to finsih his "toy".) caverider is making some progress again on his 500. Got the 10in wheel in from xowner and mounted up the tire.136381 The front end is taking shape and it is starting to look like a trike.136380 He is currently re building the motor and looking for a good 85 86 cr500 right hand sidecase. The water pump housing has rotted through, if anyone has one please contact caverider or me and I will relay the message. More to come soon!

I am hoping to get it rolling this weekend, assuming there is enough time after we get the christmas tree set-up,decorated,clean the gutters, take the fish tank outside so they can get fresh air,and take my pet giraffe for a walk. Busy weekend but im feelin confident.
