250sx stator cover..how to remove?

I'm having trouble getting this off....all the bolts are out but it seems I'm getting caught on the shifter shaft? I don't want to pry to much and break anything. Help please.

remove the shifter shaft?? Its only 1 bolt....

Just have to wiggle it carefully,,it will come,if it's not loose. there is 2 pounding tabs one in front,one at the rear to NUDGE with a hammer. As it comes off,pay attention to the shifter,,if you lose the little collar,it won't shift when it goes back together..

What collar? I used a pry bar very carfully and got the case seperated from the engine a good portion of the way but that shaft seems to be hanging it up and it makes me nervous. I must have missed those pounding tabs????

Push the cover back in and emery cloth and lube your shaft if it's that bad! There is a little collar,,you will see it for your shifter,,it can fall out. just watch for it,, #10 on the honda Fiche.
