Eehhk. Shopvac hose will break real quick! Be careful! I would recommend some PVC pipe...

Yea I would look into some smaller pvc with some 45 degrees and a few fittings to make for a real nice watertight not going to get punctured by branches snorkel.

Ha ha! It's no higher than the factory intake!

I once rigged up some rad hose to my intake and some pipe to my muffler with the intention of driving in 4' of water (I was 18 and likley high at the time) Anyway it turned out that three wheelers like to float...upside down, and two wheels are more boyant than one. The result of my contraption was terrible power (4' of rad pipe severly limits intake flow) and an upside down trike with a crankcase full of muddy water. Anyway, have fun with it and do send photos of that paper filter after his first river crossing. Oh yea, and take care not to sprain your wrist trying to turn an engine that is full of water.

im very confused.. why is it only like 2 inches above stock airbox? and that plastic will probly melt if it gets to hot.. very very bad idea... use pvc like they said and put it way higher...

Ok I give the guy an A for effort but the materials used and height of the snorkel are going to hinder the performance. There are other ways water will kill a engine other then filling the airbox up with water. You have to plug your overflow/drain on your carb water will go up into it. Also IDK how the carb is on a 110 but most carbs have vent lines that would also have to be raised as well. Electrical conections will also have to be greased to seal them from moisture. I do like your idea of making a mounting bracket that runs under the gas cap to hold the snorkel in place that was a cool idea. But yes as stated above you need better materials for this to last and trikes bob around in deep water like a drunken duck so just remember that.

Good point. My YTM had the factory one way carb vent installed. Just with that I was able to drive in water deep enough to dip my bag. They are amazing, but once all 3 wheels are off the ground it's time to take a deep breath and get ready for a head to toe soaking.

Better be "JK". MN is close enough to Manitoba that you should know exactly what dipping your "bag" in spring run-off water feels like. You should also know what a booter is, and you damn well better know what the North Star Nationals were!

On the 90/110, you have to be careful as there is a vent on the left side of the engine that runs in the bottom and side of the hi/lo gearbox area. Water will enter this small hole and fill your engine. Most people don't allow for this and can't figure how water keep entering their engine. Let alone worn out seal that don't keep oil in your engine. I wish him the best of luck.

Just in case it does all work out make sure he wears a life vest on the maiden voyage! And for God sakes don't let him name it Triketanic!

if he wants to swamp it i would of ran pvc pipe stright up behind the rear fender so its 100% out of the way. Im sure you would cake the intake full of swamp mud at itr current open location.
