here is what i got 82 yt125 its 2mm bored i go to put new rings in it today and the top ring where they come together is catching the intake port and not allowing the piston to slide anyone have a clue why its doing this

Take it apart CAREFULLY. There should be a small steel pin in each ring grove of the piston. These are to keep your rings from turning on the piston and getting caugth on the ports. Your rings should butt up to either side of this pin when assembled. This connection should not line up with ANY port...EVER!
Make sure the arrow on the top of your piston is pointed at the exaust port. Make sure the "N" on your rings (or whatever letter they have) is facing upward when installed on the piston. If one ring is thicker than the other make sure they are placed in the corresponding piston groove.
Assuming your ring gap is correct and you had the rings correctly on the piston I suspect you had the piston installed backwards. Let us know what you find.

got it! It was all in right i just had to get the rings past the intake port. The piston stroke is short so it doesnt come down to the intake. Thank you
