I'm in the process of restoring a '84 200es and I'm scratching my head on the oil passage to the cam. From what I understand it starts at the weep hole below the cylinder and travels up through the head and to the cam. My question is: How do you check that it's clear and functional? I have most of the motor put back together but the valve cover is off and I've tried pulling the rope several times to see if oil is making it to the top (unsuccessful). Is there anything I can do to make sure the pump and passage are ready to run?
Any tips are greatly appreciated!!
