I'm restoring an '85 that was in the same condition for a neighbor, he paid $600 for it.

A 87 is cool, but just as expensive to put back together as any other ES in beat to pooh shape... (sucks)

I sold this 85 last year for $550. Both rear fenders repaired, 250sx motor, inside of tank was nasty

I got one where the fuel shut off was bad and gas had run into the crankcase and diluted the oil like water.
Man that sucker smoked like crazy until I changed the oil.

Then again, it's always safest to think worst first and then rejoice when it's a 2$ fix.
Hey, might just be worth a quick compression test and dipstick sniff test for gas diluted oil.

That one turned out the be the GF's Favorite of all.
Busted fenders, spraybombed 1/2 black but thoroughly beaten, abused and neglected but it's also super smoooooth.
She calls it the hondalc escalade.

Yupp, ez off oven cleaner, frame pan just full of oil soaked muck
but 1/2 day fooling around and it's her favorite now.

...until we go look at another stable princess sx this afternoon, but I bet she still prefers the escalade..
