will a TRX250R shock fit an ATC

does anyone know if a TRX250R rear shock will fit and perform correctly in an 86 ATC250R?

Well, if you have the 85 linkage I believe there is a 1 or 2mm difference in the bottom linkage bolt. The later bikes have a bigger 1. Also 88-89 250r's are valved and sprung diferently (I guess because of their shorter swingarms, just a guess) I also believe that their linkages are diferent. Also you'll need the long hose for the shock reservoir installed, which means that you need to, at least, a nitrogen re-charge. I would take the oportunity and change the oil as well.
Maybe someone else will chime in with more detailed info.
I have a 1988 250R linkage on my ATC. It works.
