She's been down a little while..

Fixed some plastic, remove and cleaned the tank(alot of rust)..

Went noise hunting in the rear end..bit of a growl. Ended up a total overhaul of the differential..big pinion bearing was smoked, water and mud getting into the oil, it was pretty muddy looking and I just changed it in the spring.

Also install a new exhaust because the monkey that owned it before me put some cobbled up mess on that rubbed on the tire..

Lastly installed a whole new set of Bear Claws because I love them so much on my BR..the front was a bit of a pain in the azz. I wanted to go with an alternate sized since the 22x12x8 wouldn't fit between the forks. I bought a rim from a Fourtrax 250 and installed it, took a bit of messing with the spacing because the offset was so far out. But then I could install a 23x8x11.

Looks pretty good I think..next weekend it hits the trails to break it back in..

Looks great Doug.

I really like the look of the bearclaw on the front.

Do you have more info on the rim you used? What trx 250 is it from, and what"s the required spacer to centre the tire.

Does it have any sliding ability with the bearclaws? My 250es is like a tank with them. Will not slide at all.

You got me thinkin'.
I think I'll put my front tire on the tailgate and see if there's a super easy way to change the gear oil on the diff
by pouring it out the fill cap...after every ride.

I change mine every good ride to just ensure a long life differential. Gearoil is VERY cheap.

The rim I used was listed on an 86 250ex.. 11x7 with a 2+5 offset. I bought a pair of 1" wheel spacers and doubled them up..this put me within 4mm of dead centre. I simply installed a couple of washers in between the two spacers.

Then installed the 23x8x11 Bear Claw.

It is spot on perfect. I will be out this weekend and let you know about the 'drifting'..I don't expect it will want to get too loose with the Bear Claws. But it'll climb like a mountain goat!!!

Yeah! those bearclaws sure grab. I've been back and forth with what type of tire I want to put on mine... Not sure if i want another bike with Bearclaws or not.
i might look into getting that wheel. Looks good on there.

Thanks, Jason.
