I notice there are some OEM pistons on ebay and Wiseco and one from Western Power sports. What is the main difference. Why the large price gaps on some of the same piston parts. Which is the best?
Thanks

for a Tri-Z, there two main differences... The way they are made, and weight. Wiseco pistons are forged, making them harder but much heavier. Oem pistons are cast, making them softer, but lighter. You will notice more vibration when switching from an oem piston to a Wiseco. Some other pistons have coatings and such on the skirt or dome, but generally with the 2-strokes, its forged or cast.

How does the weight of the forged piston affect the performance? Is there that much difference in weight between the two? I have never compared the two side by side.

I don't know the exact numbers, but the wiseco's are heavier enough to make more vibration than stock.
