as some of you may know, my best friend bobby, a member here (billyboy34) passed away in August in a car accident. http://www.3wheelerworld.com/showthread.php?133357-RIP-BillyBoy34

he bought an 87 250sx last year and was in the middle of a full restore. his shifter broke and stripped the shaft one day while we were riding one day. he decided to do a full rebuild rather than just fix the problem. he tore it all apart, i mean completely. he had the frame gusseted, and he painted it wit KBS, he also has the motor apart in a million pieces and he painted the cases. it goes on and on. he has boxes of parts that he labeled and bagged. he has the manual with notes he wrote. he has a new piston, rings, he had it bored a few cc over. the tank is stripped to metal and was brazed. there are a couple boxes of brand new parts, seals, bearings, gaskets....there has to be 200 new parts in bags with part numbers. its very very overwhelming. I highly doubt that i can ever get it back together, i dont have the knowledge or time to do it. his wife does not want to sell it because it was a passion of his.

is there anyone is the NE area (CT, RI, MA...) that can do this for us? i have no idea if all the parts are there but as far as i know the only bad part was the shifter shaft, the rest of the project just snowballed. I checked some receipts and it looks like there is over $1200 in new parts in a few boxes plus other parts. it ran great before it broke. i can deliver it and all the pieces to you and pay you for your time.

i have tried vocational schools but the ones in CT wont work on anything over 15 years old. i am lost and think i may end up convincing his wife to sell off the parts to recoup some money and help her pay some bills. im sure i could sell quite a few thins here and on ebay, but would much rather get it running again.

thanks guys

If I were closer I could lend a hand. If you have no takers on the project maybe we can make arrangments to get it out my way (8 1/2hrs one way) the only payment I would ask for would be that any parts needed would be covered. wasnt 85 the only year they were all red? I'm not an expert on the model years so I could be wrong but if it is an 85 I have a parts trike that would be good for missing little trinkets

if you are serious about this we may need to talk. there is a local honda shop near me that will charge me hundreds in labor to do it. im not sure what your knowledge of these trikes is but if its something you think that you can do i would drive up there for sure. i could work on some stuff myself like the rims, tank, forks, plastics... at my house. but the mechanical stuff i am lost. i can change oil, bearings, fork seals, etc... but this things is torn apart. i would supply you with all the parts he and i have, I think its enough to get it running but if you need more stuff i would buy it. then next year we can get together and i could take it for a spin, man i would love that. more than you could ever know. he was my best friend for a long time, i was his best man and he mine in our weddings, i tear up writing this, its been a long couple months. if i could get this thing running it would make a lot of people very very happy.

serious as a heart attack. It would be a side project over the winter while waiting for powder coat or parts for one of my own projects,so it wouldnt be an over night deal but it would get done. as far as abilities I will upload a couple pics of a street bike I did
