ummm, I have an 87 br.
Number on the steering head should say and serial#
has some code too with a bunch of info.

If that's real and runs, I'd buy it FOR you.
(just kidding)
but I'd be there at daybreak with folding $ in me pocket.
or I'd hand him my keys or credit card to hold while I ran
to a couple different banks to get 300 from each or whatever their limit is.

There are pix of some white sx's that were sold by the oklahoma patrol
or something like that.
STUNNING!

ok, now that I've taken a deep breath and assuming that sx is real, and low hrs and not beat
with orig title and keys......good orig tires etc etc...

Call the cops with the serial # and make sure it's never been stolen
withOUT offending the seller, of course. or the pink slip will answer that question.

Check gear oil in the differential to make sure there's some in it and it smells correct.
17mm? maybe 15? for the fill cap?

Check the pan under the engine and make sure it hasn't been holding
wet salt sand or mud for years and rotted
the frame tubes. Damp gas tank seams?

Run it gently thru all the gears and make sure it shifts..and you have all 5
and reverse. Hopefully no engine knocks or timing chain slap rattle.

Everything else can be fixed easily..battery, starter, brakes etc.

Sh*&%
I priced tires for dad's old yama 200 trike and there's no way to get tires
for less than 300 bucks and this one's only 600?

Man o man, I hope this one isn't too good to be true.

search key production numbers show 4,000+ big reds and a few
others for 1987 but think sx's are not on that list for some reason.

ps - I got my pristine orig owner sx because I told the guy I thought it was underpriced a little.
He had at least 20 calls but we got it for 50$ extra.

haha I'm actually not interested in it, I'm a 250 two stroke guy. I was just curious if they actually made 87's. But If thats a good deal, you should post a thread, and get the word out on this one! I've bought a couple bikes off craigslist lately, and have offered a couple hundred LESS then what the seller is asking, and they always say ok. I bet you can get this bike for $450

oh man
I wonder how far 'xpress' is from there.
I bet he'd buy it and hold it for me! ;-)

That thing will be gone within minutes, for sure.

ps - Any interest in running some drum tracks if I send you a song?

There are 87s of most models around in low numbers. The 250sx, 250es, 200x..supposedly even the 350x. Sure it's just a matter of time and one of those will show up!!

But the 1987 250r is the mythical unicorn..

Find one of those and you are a god among men!

Doug is correct. Except the comment about the 87 350x. They are just as mythical as the 87 250r. As a matter of fact there is more credible info and sightings on the 87 250r, then the 87 350x.

Well, if you mean programing some stuff, then no, I'm not the best drum programer, and what I can program takes me hours haha, but if you want me to lay down a track with a room mic on pro tools with your same BPM, yeah, I'll do that for ya

They made a few 87, but early in 87 was when the government ordered any trikes in dealerships to be dissassembled.

I believe there are a couple '87 350x tucked away somewhere up here is Canada, but the 250r not so sure on..

'stud'ley may be right..with a little faith and luck who knows?

But I guess the question should be asked..or maybe it already has elsewhere..

How did some of the other '87 models make it out to the public(250sx, 250es, 200x)? While the 250r/350x didn't?? Did the destruction order target the 'high performance' trikes as being more dangerous, therefore the 1st to be put down??

My guess is that those models being a bit cheaper probably sold a little faster than the 350x and 250r. Guess there may have been some pre-ordered/pre-paid for models as well. When the ban went into effect, did it void any and all pre-ordered/paid in full new machines? Technically those machines would be customer owned by that point and I would think the customer would have the legal right to keep them??? Maybe Im wrong....

Id say if there are any 87's around (r's and 350x's)....There in Japan, not Canada

La,lalallalalalla,,Guys , They exist. They were built,,not in high numbers!!! But they were built. The brochure on this site of the 87's is proof of that. That brochure is real,,it is not a fake. Dean Kirsten RODE one. A 87 250R. Might be 1,,might be 58?? They exist. Not my .02.. Fact. And for the OP,88's EXIST! The 1988 Honda ATC Super Red,and I forget! Farmhand? {250SX} They are also documented on this site. And a few Actuall 88 Reds in Australia have shown up. Both rough, one butchered.
