My axle bearings were worn in my 83 DX so I ordered a set off Ebay and got them today . Yeah! I was happy. Then I go to take the front wheel off and noticed that the bearings and seals in the kit are the same size for each side. No problem, glad I looked at my manual before I decided to tear into it because I noticed my bearings and seals were different sizes on each side. My front hub is one peice with the brake drum too. Hum.. not what was shown in the manual. So I did some investigation to find out some one has swapped my front hub over to a ytm 200. Nice thank you previous owner. I cant really get too bent out of shape sense I have a parts bike to swap the right hub back but man you never can be sure what someone has swapped and hacked onto your trike. I guess being over 25 years old and having so many interchangable parts it prolly happens all the time. I would have never guessed my DX would have been victim to parts swapping It seemed so untouched. LOL

Good thing you've got the parts bike handy! At least you won't have to wait for another order to arrive to finish up your work.
I'm in the same boat with some of my machines. I have what I thought was an untouched 350x, but the rear grab bar sure doesn't look right. Once I'm able to get home and get some pics, it will be the subject of another thread to find out what the deal is...
All this sorta makes you wonder "what happened to make the previous guy swap this out?". How bad was something wrecked, or did they think it was an "upgrade".

good to know that they will swap though right? good info for someone I'm sure.In all the years of their existance your chances are better than not of having swapped or make shift parts. I am somewhat in the process of swapping a complete front end on a ytm 200. but if I ever sell it it will come with the original

Pictures please, I haven't seen that one yet. I have seen a lot, but the best is a 2 x 12 piece of wood used as a rack on a KLT 250, engineering at it's best

did they have 25" tires on it too or did they find you a different rim, I thought the 200's all had 25" tires on them I could be wrong? Might want to double check and make sure you have three lug rear hubs as well, they might have changed it all to the ytm 200 setup. On a side note and I will have to go measure I believe the forks and triples on a 200 are a different length too I will have to go measure, to accommodate the 25" tire. Will get back to you on that

Both the YTM 200 and 225's had the 3 bolt hubs. IDK about fork lenght thats a good question. I have the stock DX sized tire 22x11x8. I used to have the old Yamahauler 200 and it had the 25s all around on it. PITA because you had to take the rear tire off to change the oil filter, didn't steer for crap and was deadly at going up steep hills, on the plus side it wheelied like a champ!
