How can I check my coil??

I finally have a weekend to work on my trike, how can i check to see if my coil is bad? i checked the switch and its ok, so i am guessing coil now!!
please help me

And the coil is the little regulator(box) on the wire right before it gets to the spark plug right??

The easiest way to check it is to try it on another machine. The Yamaha's do have a CDI box before the coil.

the easiest, and simplest way to check is to..

1. stick your pinky finger in the spark plug cap and make sure its touchin the metal inside
2. crank the engine over

of you feel a shock, its all good

if you feel nothing, something is bad

dont worry bout the shock, its nothing huge, just a little jolt

Ouch!!...I Put I Light Thingy On The Plug Cable So Whenever Bike Is Running ( Means there's Spark ) Light Will b On...U Probably Have Seen This Lights On Harleys & Steets Bikes
