could this be welded, or is it even worth it. this is a nos(takeout) carb that had a rough storage life dangling off the back of a motor. it clearly has the late model venting for the cold start. i havnt checked yet, but i would imagine it has the threaded jet, unlike the early pressed in versions. thats the only reason i am considering fixing it. what do you think?? i know the metal is cast, thin, and poreous, but it just has to hold.

Most carbs are pot metal and not really able to be tig welded. I think your best bet is to mix up a batch of epoxy, dip the broken edge down into it, and then push it back on there and devise some way to clamp and hold it in place with a mini c-clamp or some spring loaded jobber.
