I bought a set of 350x forks to go on my 250sx awhile back and they came with everything but the tire wheel and front brakes pieces. Now that im about ready to swap my forks i figured id better look into nrake stuff and since im gonna have to buy id rather have something better than stock. Ive heard the 450r master cylinder is an upgrade but what about the caliper and disk?

I have consistently use Honda OEM pads forever. They last a long time and stop great when hot or wet. The only other brand I like is Galfer sintered metal...........

EBC long life pads work really good in just about any typ of riding.

Is there a better caliper or master cylinder though i was gonna prolly run honda pads.

Your master probably needs rebuilding and the rubber line is the largest culprit of a spongy/soft brake feel. Get a stainless braided line and rebuild the master or replace it with a newer quad model.

That dual piston caliper can do stoppies so I wouldn't condemn it.......

Would a trx 450r master cylinder work. And can i just have a stainless brake line made somewhere like napa and that work or do i need something special

Did 85 and 86 model 350xs have the same caliper? I think i saw someehere that 85s were single piston and 86s had dual pistons

No, they did not. 85 had dual piston with fins, 86 had dual pistons with no fins. One will bolt on a 250R, maybe the other IDK..........

Both have dual pistons. Change THE DAM LINE AND MASTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Any mastercylinder will work as long as you can mount it.

OK, sooooo, you bought a set of forks is what you're saying...

It seems like you're trying to improve upon a design that doesn't need improvement. The stock front brake on a 350X will lock up in the dirt and pick the back of the bike up off the ground on pavement. Why are you trying to make it better?

Like these guys are saying, get a new master (just about any will work), a new line (the new line is KEY), and some new pads. You're turning a mountain into a molehill. You asked the question, now listen to the answer.

yes the 450r master will work. I run one on my 200x. I also use the 450R clutch lever as it also contains the correct parking brake lock assembly and works awesome withthe 200x setup!!! (same for the 350x) you can get these for udner $75 shipped off ebay in great shape!!!
