View Full Version : I need a decent pair of brake levers for my Honda ATC

So I bought some brake levers off ebay for $30 I think. The brand is EMGO I believe. They looked ok enough for the good price. Tried to secure the brake cables and BAM. One of em snaps. The other one I got the cable in but it doesn't fit right. My question to you is, What are good replacement brake levers for Honda's? Keeping the price decent. I may buy just the levers from Babbitt's and see if they will work on these perches. I have one lever that I mangled the perch on from the 185s I'm parting out and they look like they may fit these new perches. Any ideas or a specific brand ATC owner's prefer? Babbitt's is too expensive to rebuild a complete pair of levers and perches.

Really? 35 views and not one suggestion? I must be on the wrong forum or something. I thought this was a 3 wheeler forum.

Wrong area of the forum, you want this in the classifieds area. Year & model would help also..

Really surprised "Fabiodriven" didn't bark at you, it really bugs him when people don't post threads where they belong!!

While you're at it start a thread asking everyone what type of oil they use..that makes his head spin around in a 360. It isn't pretty..but it's fun to watch.

Just kidding..welcome to the forums. Fabio, just playing around..no disrepect, all in fun!!

Doug, He's not looking to buy some, he's asking what would be a good brand.

I run ASV on my 350X, they are expensive but well worth it. Built very sturdy.

My name is Doug too. LOL. Yeah really I'm just trying to get some ideas. Still haven't got a response back from ebay jerks selling cheap crap. Hope I don't have to start a buyer protection claim. $30 wasted it's looking like. I did however come across the aftermarket levers from Alloy Art in the Babbitt's aftermarket parts section. I'm a little skeptical though, They are really cheaply priced.

Wow! Those ASV's are nice. I think my wife would kill me if I spent that much on brake levers. She didn't even want me to get the trike in the first place. LOL. I think maybe I will keep those in mind for when I have money to burn. Right now I just need something that will stop the trike so I don't hurt myself. I somehow like to tear down the road and forget I don't have brakes. I may try to reuse the perches I got from cheapo ebay people. I'm almost positive a stock Honda ATC lever will fit them. I haven't been out to the garage to mess with the trike in a few days though. I think in the long run before I hand the trike down to my boy it will have ASV's on it though.

Have you tried taking the levers to your local honda dealer? They may be able to hook you up with a more modern stock honda replacement or they may have several different aftermarket levers to choose from.

Vealmonkey... My local shop is worthless. They don't really care to help you unless you bought your machine from them and it's newer. As for my machine...it's an 84 125m and when I bought it, it didn't have any brake levers or perches on it. Just brake cables hanging loose. I took one brake lever and perch off an 185s that I am parting out. The perch is too mangled to use. But like I said...the design of the lever may fit these new perches I got. I may try the one I have, but I can't yet until I get word from the ebay jerks. Don't want to take them apart and scratch em up if I have to send em back for a refund.

Hey Doug, flip over to the classified forum and throw it out or ask some of the guys listing parts for sale... Probably find what you need and save some change!!

ASV's are worth the money. I've had a set for 5 years and love them. don't they run $35 for one $80 for the set? Just bought a new set for one of my R's. lifetime warrenty and unbreakable but I have bent them and they honnered the warrenty. it's way better than the stock/cheapies that I break 4 or 5 times a year.

I looked for em on ebay a bit and also on their website. I'm not sure which model I would even get? All of them seem to have master cylinders on the brake levers that I seen. I don't need a master cylinder. But I also didn't look that hard and alot of the sets I looked at were $100 to $175.

hey try Tractor Supply Center if your in a pinch. they have a little off brand atv/cycle section with clutch and brake levers. 8 bucks and your good to go. A freind wiped put a few weels ago on a sunday. broke the clutch perch and TSC was a 1/2 mile away. pulled up behind the store and in 5 minutes he was riding. looked like oem and worked well.

We actually have a Tractor Supply locally. Never been in there before but that may be the excuse I need to check it out. I'd probably just want to buy a tractor for the mud though. LOL.

don't hate me guys, but I found the newer Honda quads have some really aweosme quality parts. my 200x sports the front master and the clutch lever off a honda TRX450r. (at least it's a racer and is fitting for a racin 200x ;) ). but the point is you can get them for a decent price off ebay and they are top notch in quality.
