Picked up a pretty beat 86 125M off a local kid who had owned it for a year and beat on it pretty good it seems. Myself and Brosh decided we wanted a team project to wrench on. Rescued it for about $300. Started right up but didn't idle. Engine sounded good, as did exhaust. Gas tank had one dent on the side, stickers are faded, but inside is PERFECT. Front fender has a long crack in it, rear fenders were complete junk (managed to salvage the mud flaps!) We knew it needed quite a bit of work and money to make it good, but we also knew it was an 86 and decided it was worth it.

Here's the list of things we've replaced/done so far:

new front hand brake cable
new rear hand brake cable
new choke cable
new front brake pads
new front brake lever
new chain & both sprockets
new uni air filter
new oil filter/oil change
new rear wheel bearings
new rear brake shoes
carb cleaned
used dash/ignition w/ key from member shortline10(many thanks!)

Sand blasted and painted the following:
chain guard
grab bar
rear brake cover

Rear end is practically new at this point. Tore the whole thing apart, cleaned the fuse box and all wires too. Mechanically, this trike is ready for anything to be thrown at it as far as we know. Shifts perfect, idles perfect, everything works good.

However, we are having a heck of a time finding a nice set of rear fenders, and a front fender also (would be awesome!). If anyone has a lead, let me know and help a few members out (it would be greatly appreciated!!!!). We also are looking for an OEM blue seat, or someone who can recover ours to make it look just like it did back in the day. We are planning on bringing this trike back to it's former glory and using it as the "new rider" trike to get our other friends hooked on the hobby. Pics coming soon!

These fenders are for an 85, but I think the fenders are the same for the two years. They also are for a 110 but they should be the same.

Sadly, the only fenders that fit are 86-87 fenders, making it very hard to find these. Good news is that we have just about everything else on this trike wrapped up. But those fenders are so hard to find..

Very cool, the engine on those are vertical right? My kids TRX125 has an 85125m engine on it and of course it won't shift for crap now. Same guy I bought it from has a 125m that I could get for $100. I will find out if he has plastics for yours.
