As the title says, I have a 1986 Atc 350x with a 12:1 Wiseco piston. I have heard that I will probably need to run race fuel of like 110 octane or so. But will it hurt anything to run premium pump gas? Thanks for any help.

Yes,once your over 12.1 (or even 11.1) you have to run race gas or aviation fuel.(Cheaper). Because the 350's have a small dome for being a 350, You need to run that high quality fuel. I'd also recommend running alky. Cheap(er), Makes your motor run cooler, and there's a ton people I've talked to that say its the best thing you can do for a 350x is run it on alky. Such as Dave Moore. He has had 350x's for yeeears and if you wanna know anything about 350x's,He's the guy to talk to. Here's his web site. - www.davemooreracing.com

Ok I have a brand new trx400 carb to put in it. What size jets should i run in it if i want to run alky or race gas? Also, where do I buy race gas or alcohol from?

you can get 100 octane at most delta sonics aviation fuel110+ you can get at small airstrips noco has the alky and is very cheap compared to race fuel.( Noco energy not the gas station)

Well I live near Clay City, IL and i dont have any noco energy stations around here. I'm also new to this. Will E85 do the trick?

I run 50/50: 110 race fuel / 93 octane premium pump gas. To be honest, I've run both extremes: straight 93 octane, and straight 110. I didn't notice anythign bad running the straight 93 octane premium but run the 50/50 mix for peace of mind.

You have to search around a bit, but by me, there is a Sunoco station that carries the turbo blue brand of 110 race fuel.

Personally, I would be worried about using alcohol (race fuel or E85). Our fuel systems are not designed to run alcohol in high concentrations. I know that passenger cars today have modified fuel systems in order to handle E85, and I know that automotive racing carbs have special seals and materials used to handle alchohol. Now, if you rebuild the fuel system to handle alcohol, then you are good to go.

50/50 works for me too, but 12:1 is a PITA; I will be changing the 200X back to 11:1 or whatever 10.?? :1 I can fit in there. I don't ride it enough to deal with stale gas!
