There seems to be a abundence of metal finishers in your area.

I paid around 150.00 to have my new DG nickled. I done the sand blasting.

129814I thought I would show a picture of my (rather dusty) nickel pipe i had done 3 years ago.
It was brand new when i took it to my local metal finisher. They did not want anything to do with a used pipe saying it basically could NOT be cleaned well enough for them to dip in a vat of there chemicals. They was not about to take a chance of contaminating a whole bunch of chemicals for a exhaust pipe.

Jemco does nickel plating on their new pipes for $70 but thats probably if you buy the pipe off of them. Not sure if they do used ones or not, might be worth sending an email

The first step in the chroming process is to nickle coat the item, then I believe a copper coating is applied because the copper bonds to the nickle and chrome bonds to copper.
For me, the nickle was shiny enough. Mirror chrome (or some times referred to as show chrome) is very labor intensive because of all the man hours involved with buffing.
I just wanted my Tecate rider to look good and not haft repaint the pipe every year to keep it looking nice so for me, nickle coating was the answer.
As far as holding up ,,, well my pipe only seen sand for 3 years and probably about 3 rides for each of those years so of course it has held up like the day it was first nickeled

I had a pipe ceramic coated for 110.00 nice and shiney and a used pipe is no problem.
