In your opinion what do you think is the successor of each of Honda's ATCs? I know they will never be replaced, but if one of Hondas modern machine carries their blood which one carries which? My thought process is persay the 350X spiritual successor is the 700XX Anyone else have any opinions?

Of course the trx250r to the atc250r. For the 350x, I was thinking more of the 400ex. I think you are just thinking too many generations too late.

Yeah perhaps I am, I just thought some people could make some creative connections of the old machines to the new ones. I was thinking the Big Red's successor is not the Big Red MUV but more immediately (in America anyway) would be the Honda TRX 300? Since it came out right after the consent degree in 1988, in some countries though it served along side the the famous 88 Big Red.. But not in America so I figured maybe that's how that works, I mean the 300 is big, red, and is similar to the big red in my opinion.

ATC200x = '87-'88 '91-'92 TRX250x
ATC250sx = TRX250ex
I agree with veal on the ATC350x = TRX400ex and ATC250r = TRX250r or TRX450r

atc 90/110 = trx 90. The "mini bikes" of their respective generations.

think of it more as a family tree like atc250r = trx250r = trx450r....350x = 400ex = 700xx thats the way i look at it

Not a Honda but, the short lived polaris three wheeler got an extra wheel and became the trail boss. I believe the drivetrain is pretty much identical

I think it was the opposite for the Polaris...... they had quads and then made the trike

If I'm remembering correctly, Polaris had made sleds, and maybe bikes. They released the Trail Boss and the Scrambler close to the same time, the ads usually showed both. It was their first venture into ATVs.
