NEW TRI-Z Plastic order list. Shrouds, air box cover, Ft. & rear fenders.

As most of you know we have the molds for the Tri-Z shrouds and air box covers. I have had many requests lately for more Tri-Z plastic. We are now ready to get going on this.


If you are in for one piece of plastic or a whole set, put your name, what part, and color you are interested in below (copy & paste list).


I NEED at least 5 pieces of a particular plastic part per color.
If only 3 of you want a special color, I will need 2 more or I can't order it.
Also, I will need at least 10 orders for shrouds and air box covers (each) to get the order placed.


Once all the plastics are in, I will pm everyone with their exact shipping cost. Shipping varies too much on the large items to set one rate.

I don't see red carbon fiber listed, but they showed it to me at this years dealer show. They were getting opinions on it. If anyone wants red CF, I will call and see if they are offering it.

Yes, it is like the Yamaha blue. I will post a cut off date when we get enough people listed above to ensure the order. I will need the money (the amount of the plastic you order) before I place the order. When the plastic comes in, the only money that will be due is your exact shipping cost.
These plastic orders (depending on amount of plastic we order) take usually around 4-6 weeks depending on how busy Maier is at that time.

CF BLK, and PINK are the closest from what I can gather...we need 5 of each item, matching color...to make this happen. This is as close as you will ever get to replacing your Zplastic with NEW. These orders are hard to put together and require alot of $$$ per color/item run. If your on the fence it's time to start saving and get in on the order side...Who knows when this group order might happen again. The prices cannot be compaired to OLD stock parts that have been discontinued...Trust me 100 letters to the back order department wouldn't raise interest at Yamaha Japan. The under $500 package deal might seem a bit expensive...in time it will only increase as to the cost of manufacturing. You'll never loose your money on the unique colors due to the simple fact, We'll be lucky to get 5 of us to agree on one color. If your rebuilding a Z this is your golden oppertunity to have your chioce at a 1in5 guys who own a rare color scheme in NEW condition. Great start to a custom build just in time for winter/spring finish.

I will be adding a deadline soon. When I add the deadline, I like to give everyone about a month to pay, so there is plently of time.


I went in and added up the list. Here are the numbers for color choices so far. Keep in mind I will be ordering stock colors. The following is a count on custom runs.
Some of these aren't looking good.

Besides red, yellow, black and white.....

Carbon Fiber Black....4 sets of shrouds, 3 airbox, 2 fronts, and 2 rears

Silver....1 airbox

Carbon Fiber White...1 ft, 1 rear, 1 shrouds, 1 airbox

Pink....4 ft, 4 rear, 3 shrouds, 2 airbox

That gives us an idea. Pink is real close. I would hate to see that not get ordered. CF black is also looking good.

I am not being short or picking on anyone here at all. And I am certianly not trying to be rude. It looks like there is some indecision on colors here.
We have to order in color numbers of 5..We can't order 2 pinks, 3 orange, 2 carbon fiber whites, etc, etc... It has to be a minimum of 5 sets of one odd color.
And you cant order 1 blue rear fender and 1 orange front fender. If you want a custom color, you are going to have to buy at least the front and rear fender in that same custom color and it will take a minimum of 5 complete sets in that custom color.
I know everyone has their own tastes, but this is the way it is..Right now we have guys all over the place in color choices.

So we need for you guys to make a decision on a few odd colors or even just one odd color for now. Some of you that want one set of green or orange, may want to switch to a different color to get a complete order of 5 in progress or wait and hope for another color run in your choice later down the road.
Right now pink is one more set off from being done.
So if you all want to get together and take a vote on odd/custom colors other than yellow, black or white, and start a list for odd colors that can be filled in sets of 5. Once that is agreed on, we can get going on this.

You guys can go back a page to the latest list and look at the guys that are on the list and see which colors have the most interest and narrow it down.
Keep in mind that yellow and black and white can be purchased in the custom color run, in any amount, since they are always on the shelf.

Can you guys get 1-2 odd colors going in sets of 5 or more for each color?




I went in and added up the list. Here are the numbers for color choices so far. Keep in mind I will be ordering stock colors. The following is a count on custom runs.
Some of these aren't looking good.

Besides red, yellow, black and white.....

Carbon Fiber Black....4 sets of shrouds, 3 airbox, 2 fronts, and 2 rears

Silver....1 airbox

Carbon Fiber White...1 ft, 1 rear, 1 shrouds, 1 airbox

Pink....4 ft, 4 rear, 3 shrouds, 2 airbox

Blue....2 ft, 2 rear, 1 shrouds, 1 airbox


That gives us an idea. Pink is real close. I would hate to see that not get ordered. CF black is also looking good.

Hey guys, it seems like interest is falling on this a bit, lets bring it back to life... I'm ready for powder coating on my Z frame and if Pink isn't a go pretty soon I'm gonna settle for good old yellow (like Yamaha's are supposed to be in the first place) I mean as hard as good shrouds and air box covers are to find (if you want them looking shiny and new) I would have thought there would be a ton of guys into this by now... So come on and rally the troops, its been almost a month and a half since anyone posted in here...

No, I would need 5 for red front and rear. The only colors that I would not need 5 for a run of, would be yellow, black and white. Because Maier offers these in their catalog (in front and rear).

The colors that have the most interest (in FULL SETS) are....

Pink....At this time there are 4 front fenders, 4 rear fenders, 3 sets of shrouds, and 2 air box covers. I really need to get to 5 for each item. If we can get to 5 for the front and rear, I may be able to talk them in to running the other 3 and 2. But they will want 5 of the big items. Anyone else want pink?

Carbon fiber black... Not enough interest in the rear fender so far. We have 1 rear, 2 front fenders, 3 air box covers and 5 shrouds. I am ok with filling in the air box covers, but the front and rear fenders will need more to get them ran.

Blue...so far we have 2 front fenders, 2 rear fenders, and 1 set of shrouds. Anyone else want blue? I may be in for one set of blue, but we really need 2 more people to get blue.

Thanks Mrs Mosh, that’s great news.
I know the shipping will cost but its the shipping company add ons that really hurt. I have had a few things via USPS and they arrive here via Royal Mail which is a lot easier as they are only 2 miles away, and if the item value is suitably low or labelled a gift they don’t charge tax and stuff.

UPS, Fedex, DHL all charge big money and their depots are a long way off.

No problem, I can add you to the list for a complete blue set.

Maier would make the low pro rear fender molds for you, but it would be very pricey. Then you have to order 25 sets if you own the mold.

You got Dune money but nothing for the order till ya getback, got it. You sound like matt86200X offering to buy Zparts...instead of buying his plastic. Here I thought a comitment to a group order met something to the nature of the boards. I can't imagine if the order would have read a 20% down Non-refundable fee with a 15% charge to ANY late payment beyond set due date would have eliminated the few SPECIAL needs type. The order was CLEAR and easy to understand....5 of each color to run...Your commitment is needed to ENSURE each color run of EACH item. Once your on the list your in for that color/item....no fuss no MONEY down. When there is enough interest the order will be put into place with a $date set. Here's the due date...with pleanty of leadtime from that point to save(not to mention from the time of each individuals comitment)...not good enough hows about make payments?....here's another week in-a half for ya to boot. Have fun Raffa, guess we'll wait till you and MrNola return as he's been LURKING since Nov2011. It looks like he might need to be arranged for too. I could care less if this has made me a look like a complete JERK! Your opinion of me is perfectly exceptiable and valid. The DAYS
of signup group buys with NO $$$$$ down I'd expect over. Just as a note to the FEW SPECIAL needs types that are NOW off the hook.
SO LONG and remember this as you pay retail/backorder in just STOCK colors with NO MATCHING airbox lids/shrouds. YOU had the chance
to be apart of a SPECIAL order but you blew it! Yeah times are tuff....thats why the rest of us saved knowing the day would come. I doubt
and would bet that matching sets of Tri-Z plastics in CUSTOM colors will ever be done FOR A LONG TIME, if ever again. I'd expect to see CF, Pink,
and Blue Full sets to bring 2times the $ on Ebay in less than 5yrs. Hey wanna buy mine?? Today just tripple the buy in and I'll personally deliver it
to anyone on the looser list. I doubt you'll get help from those you bacame a pain too, but I'm not as NICE as they are either. GOOD LUCK CHUMPS!

The annoligy of the cart before horse needs some explination: as I'm not sure how it relates
1.) the cart is the Group and the deadline payment is the horse?
2.) the deadline payment is the cart and the horse is the group?
3.) the late payment people are the cart holding up the horse who's the group(on time)?
Maybe you can elaborate and share your annoligy with me someday. That way I can become a better member from it.
One things for sure the off the hook comitments are IMO whats left after the horse and cart move-on.

This is OUR thread (The responsible members)...We do this..Tammy and I put up with the chaos..Unfortunately for some, I do not share her calm demeanor or polite reserve.
The next time I see a pissing match in OUR thread, Tammy and I are gonna slap ANYONE with time off who wants to crap in it..Moderator, veteren member, newbie, buyer..It dont matter!

Between a few tire-kicking covenant breakers, and a couple of people that have concerns, and a few ego attitudes, this by FAR is the biggest romper room thing we have ever been a part of as far as a group buy....I have seen kindergartner's line up for potty break more organized than this has gotten to be!

And you people wonder why there are fewer and fewer people getting into this stuff.
