View Full Version : Why does every 250 imporess me as the best?

I just got an 85 'parts' sx cheap.

Wires hanging all over .
BRAND new tires.
hmmmm
people do not put hundres of dollars worth of tires on a trike
if it's terminal.

say an hour later and 12 wrenches, I'm scaring myself on 2 wheels.

This thing is ridiculous.
Compression may be a little higher than normal
due to fancy piston, but it has some sort of
accerator pump carb with the choke lever on the side.
Hit the throttle in 2nd gear?
Haaaaaaaa
3rd? same
2 wheels.

I know they're all faster than need be but this one really
likes the accel pump carb.

Could this possibly be true?
Dramatic difference for sure.

What is the size and type of that front tire. Is it 22x11-8? I like it.

Might even find some numbers or a name.
I didn't bother to look too close.
Just got it running and rode till dark.

I'll tell ya, it IS close.
Say 1/2 inch clearance on each side but it's never touched the forks.

I'll look for the numbers and name on it tomorrow if you can't read these numbers.

Guess I already shot some.

I'll try to get some numbers off it tomorrow.
I wonder if it's that infamous 'direct oem replacement carb' ..except for the choke...for $119.

Throttle cable attaches the same with the odd nut/metal tube on top of the carb.

Choke lever flips UP to be ON
but I'm just gonna try a couple pumps with the throttle since it does squirt gas apparently.

sn - sure looks like an 84 big red rack has at least 2 places to directly bolt to the frame.

Yeah, sx's like to wheelie! As for that front tire, my brother got the same one for his 250es and they are WIDE!

yeah, I wish I could find a number on it.
I think I'd like a couple more of those monsters.

Just got the trike running so I'll wait a day or 2 before I take it apart and look for ##'s.
