85 atc 125m no spark on ignition

hey, on my 125m i can't get a spark. i cleaned the points and checked the ground and those were good and changed out the spark plug, don't know what else to do. i'm thinking its the ignition coil or the CDI box, but i'm hoping its something simple that i haven't thought of so i so have to go searching for those. originally i thought it was the pulse generator cause it was loose, but i fixed that and still nothing. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

The pulse generator can be installed 180 degrees out causing no spark. Also you say it was loose... maybe the advancer pin fell out.

the advancer pin did fall out, and i was able to put it back in. how can i tell if its been installed 180 degrees out?

The actual rotor, not the pickup, is 2 peices. If you havn't seperated them them they should be good. If you hold the springs open you can lift the one part and spin it around. If in doubt try both ways won't hurt any thing.
