I am reassembling a 1985 ATC 70. The pull start was in pieces and I am almost done refurbishing it but I can't figure out how #12 in the micrphiche attaches to the ratchet pulley.
microphiche (http://www.hondapartsnation.com/pages/OemParts?aribrand=HOM#/Honda/ATC70_A_(85)_ALL-TERRAIN_VEHICLE_(ATV)%2c_JPN%2c_VIN%23_JH3TB030-FK000001/RECOIL_STARTER/ATC70-85-JPN-A/2Y149573F14957307D)

I see that the spring is suppose to return the friction plate to it's resting point to disengage the ratchets, I just can't see how it attaches. If the straight end goes into one of the very small holes in the pulley's edge where it's sandwhiched, then how the heck to you do it?!?

Thanks guys

the point of the spring on the ID goes in one of the holes on the pulley (#14) on the edge as you seen. the spring will rest in the center of the pulley as you put the friction plate on (#4). the other end of the spring will stick up through one of the holes in the friction plate. then hold it all together as you put the c clip on.
