Supertraps are cool, do you have to tune the carb different to match that type of exhaust?

How do you know which way to jet it, do you guess and just watch for signs of fouling or lean condition on the plug?

Well it is a bigger pipe and flow nicer then stock so you would have to give it more fule but you really have to watch your plug.

I love Supertrapp, I run them on everything aside from a Bassani on my SX (they are heavy though)

I must say though 80% of every Supertrapp out there cannot be rebuilt/repacked. They do not come apart. When I get one apart I file out all the burrs, smooth out everything and use hi temp never seize on them. You just can't get them apart without destroying the majority of them in order to repack them or pivot the cone to fit other models etc etc.

Some day I'll build an entire jig just to get the pricks apart. I've ruined at least 3 just attempting and that was carefully with plastic hammers/heat, but they still get all dented up. They could have done a better job building them............ Yes, I know there old.

Would taking them apart when they are new help? I would imagine getting rid of the burrs and using some never seize before it gets bad would have to help.

one they have always been pita to rebuild just like the 1st gen e-series. only thing that saves them is anti-seize and rebuilds often. enjoy the supertrapp I run one on DR650 and had one on a warrior for years before switching to white bros. Should only have to go up one main on jetting. lov the sound

I looked in mine when I had it apart and there was nothing, should there be packing in side the pipe? Thanks Aaron

Yes, should have packing.......

The only "NEW" one still around is the 350X at about 350$. All the rest are discontinued.............

Ok I will go out and get some packing for it. The packing just sits in the aluminum end? You say that they have been discontinued does that mean that this pipe is rare? Thanks Aaron

So I got some work done today on the pipe and header, seeing how I had the pipe apart already it came apart with with out hurthing anything. I had to fix the tabe on the header that bolts on to the frame some stupid person cross threaded it and also broke the weld on the tabe that was a quick fix. I got them all cleaned up sanded down with 100grit then 220. Gave them a hot water bath let them dry and painted with some 650f paint. I have only got 2 coats on now so they arnt done just yet should be by tomrrow. Thanks Aaron

Ya I hope it does the only thing that I am worried about this the exhaust studs. They have never been off in 26years.

Just PB blast the crap out of them and leave them for a day then use some heat right off the bat and hopefully they will come off. It would probably be better to replace the studs but I guess don't push your luck..lol

They have been soaking in rust check fot the last week. I am going to take it to my grandfathers to use his torches. I hope they don't brake off.
