Picked these up last night from a old retired mechnic. He said a guy dropped them off three years ago for him to fix them. The owner didnt want to spend that much money to repair so he left them. They have been sitting for three years. He said the motor ran when he brought them out but he needs a new set of crank bearings.

It came with a brand new k@n filter never opened. One of the bikes had a brand new front tire with the sticker still on it. The back tires on one are some Ive never seen before Im sure they are discontinued. plastic is still pretty good and seat foam isnt to bad. I could probably make one nice 250r with all the parts. One of the tanks is really nice and the other isnt to bad either, super clean inside. I have several boxes of engine parts from the donor trike as well.
Im currently working on a custom lifted 200x which is taking up most of my time and money, so these may have to wait until Im finished with the x.

Why would you ask us if you should keep them or sell them?

I can find super nice 83-84 air cooled R's in my area for around $1000. Theres a 300 kit one right now on craiglist for $1000. I wanted some opinions on if I should keep and rebuild or just sell the parts. I found a deal yesterday and it was cheap and too close to pass up. I can use a few parts like hubs and wheel/tires, breaks, handle bars, etc on my 200x project which would be worth what I paid alone. I think I have 99% of all the little odds and ends to make a complete 250r if I wanted too. I may just sell the parts I dont need and keep enough to build a decent 250r.

Do you already have a 250R? I would make a complete one and either ride it or sell it. Sell whatever is left of the parts bike

So your the one that got them. I was tempted but I have to many other things going on right now. The price was definitely right though. Good score.

Was these the 250r's that was listed on St Louis CL for $150? I seen a pair similar to yours on there yesterday and now there gone. Nice starting point for a resto. Id keep them if they was mine and make a rider out of one.

I figured I'd throw it out there for a shot:D. What are the rear tires on the second one that look like a X pattern? I've seen them a couple times before I think they look cool.

I found a little time this weekend and put together one roller with all the best parts. The rear swingarm on the parts bike was in great shape and all the bearing were in good shape and it really cleaned up well. I have a few little things to do to finish it up and the all I have to do is throw in a good motor
