I got a 1984 yamaha 200 shaft drive with electric start for free from a guy at work problem is the tranny was shot. We bought a replacement motor for it that came out of a 1985 yamaha 200 shaft drive with electric start and reverse but he did not have the rear end with it. The rear end from the 1985 motor has a different gear on the end of the shaft that connects to the rear end. Should i take the gear off of our 1984 motor and put it on the 1985 or should i try to find a rear end from a 1985??? the gears appear to be the same size but the splines are a different shape. Thanks.
