The headlight on my '81 185s use to work fine, the whole thing is NOS so there is nothin wrong with it at all. I could see clearly with it and now I can barely see anything with it at all. Lighting coil taking a poop? Which one is the one for the lights when you are looking at them with the flywheel off?
I've tried a little searching and found I can get one of a 200x that has a little more power to it, is that true? Thanks

I'm pretty much clueless with wiring but a 185s is a pullstart with no battery... if you rev it up it should get brighter... I dont know if the cdi would effect the light or if the light gets power from something else but it could be something other then the wiring, a connection is a connection so the fact the lights working at all makes me think its not wire related. not sure though, i didnt see any replies so i figured i would help :/

Yes the lights should get brighter when you rev the engine but they aren't. They use to work great just a few weeks ago now they are very dim and I can't even ride at night. The power for the lights comes from a coil behind the flywheel but I don't know which one it is, ones is for ignition and the other for lights.

could be a ground wire, even though its connected it could be loose or dirty!!!
