84 Big Red rear end locked up???

I just bought a 84 big red shaft drive and the rear end is locked up its got a little play but its tight what could it be ????

u might have a broken gear inside or rusted shaft did it ever work before that u know of

I just bought it today they said they last used it about 6 months ago and worked fine but when they went to go use it again the rear end was locked up and decided to sell it

I just spent 4 HOURS breaking loose my brakes.

Someone STOMPED on the pedal and it locked them tight.

4 hrs apart and 10 minutes back together, all shined up and greased etc.

Try that first.

Is there any play at all?

I mean like, fore and aft rock like the amount of a biz card thickness? Like a couple thousandths?

Well I got figured it out the brake shoes came off the metal and were binding inside there perventing the rear end form turning took old ones out and put some good used ones in for now and goes awesome pic is sideways
