elec prob on Suzuki Lt 125

I replaced the carb, fuel pump, finally narrowed it down to electric prob. I replaced the pickup coil (had a spare) its not that. Prob is it runs for a few minutes then quits, starts up again and quits. Could it be the CDI or coil, it seems like a timing issue????

I fried the ignition stator on my alt 125, and it slowly died out.

would it run and then quit like mine does? how did you diagnos it to be the stator coil?

yeah, for a few days it would start cold, then die when it got hot.

I checked everything else, and have figured that it is the only thing left. It also happened shortly after driving through the river for a weekend.

I also fixed a 110 and 185 that did the same thing after getting them really wet.

which one did you replace, the coil with the red wire wrapped around it or the "taped" looking coil or both?

Not sure which one it is without looking. One is the lighting coil, and the other is for spark. If you get a new one, compare them. Otherwise you can check them with an ohm meter according to specs in your repair manual.
