I got an 85 250es big red. Wanting to sell it, but wondering what to list it for. It runs great, all tires are good. All the plastic is good except the trunk lid. The frame is a little twisted but does not hinder from the performance of the machine. The only thing it needs is cables, (front, reverse, and rear), I have the levers. I have a feeling I have a little too much into the machine to get that back out of it, but I have seen good ones going for 800-1K.

Maybe 500-700?? You should get the cables installed and brakes working. That is something I have found that buyers ask about
Are the front forks messed up too? Almost looks like they are smashed back a bit but it could just be the picture

The brakes work. Well thats the thing, I cant tell if the frame is bent or its the forks. I wish I could find another to compare it to.

Around here, that's a $500 machine, tops. If you fixed the issues and prettied it up, maybe $800.

Fix it up then put it up for $1000 OBO. A marketing strategy is to put up a price a few hundred more than what you really want for it, or what it's really worth, and then put OBO with it. Sometimes it works. Other times, people are just cheap.

Well, if the frame is racked, its a parts machine... If its just the front end, 500-600 around these parts...

Truth is I was looking at your CL listing..the one with the trailer included. Seemed a good deal for $900..
If you saw one in there at $1000 in Washington, that is the one I bought. Near perfect condition..worth a grand all day long.
You were just a bit far for me..but knowing now about the frame damage, any frame damage at all..I would have walked away.
Not to say it isn't worth the $600 you are asking..hold at that price. Just that it wasn't what I was looking for to do semi-major repairs.
Your $900 with the trailer seems a good deal..hold for it and someone will come along, drop $800 in your hand and you'll both be happy.

Xpress, couldn't happen, problem is his area..couldn't get anyone to come and look at it for $1000 unless it's A1 original.
Alot of the areas of the country(yours and mine) it would be, but Michigan is a gold mine of cheap ATC. I watch the CL in Michigan everyday and run over with my trailer when a good deal shows up..it's where I buy all my trikes.
Look what I found for $1000 just an hour from him!! (not the young lady, she's my daughter)
127715
Came with plow(which I sold in one day for $250), gun rack, rack pack and title..
His area is cut throat..these trike are dirt there!! I could sell this tomorrow in SW Ontario for $1800-2000
If he sticks with his price as is it will sell eventually..

I wouldnt go as far as saying its a parts machine. I have rode it for 3 years the way it is. The frame is bent under the seat making the rear fenders look crooked. Why would you say its a parts machine if it rides fine. I though the trike guys were against parting out a rideable machine?

So the frame is junk, but you keep riding it... If you fix the frame, or replace, its no longer a parts machine, but "I" wouldnt sell it as a good machine with a torched frame... Hence why I would call it a parts machine. I hate to see a good trike parted out, but I also hate to see one in unsafe shape... If it were me, I would asess the frame, and find a way to do a good quality, safe repair... Why does it also look like the fork tubes are bent? It looks like the front fender is touching the down tube. Or is that just a funny angle in the picture?

Holy damn Thorpe you're right..I didn't see that. That trike is scary bent!!
I take back what I posted earlier..that trike is toast. But some good looking parts there..engine is nice a clean.

The handlebars are turned, it is the angle.

Post up a few more pics if you would... It looks to me like the fork tubes are bent as well... (like it suffered a head on collision at some point) Looks like the fender flap has been rubbing the downtube... (maybe a pic of the frame damage too?)
I am not trying to be a dink here, just trying to give you a realistic value, and also a perspective of what buyers may be likely to ask...
