anyone ever used these reusuable filters? seems a lot easier and in the long run cheaper to pull this out clean it then pop it back in for an oil change. Also wouldnt have to carry around a pil;e of filters everywhere you ride

When it comes to oil or anything maint. wise, why cut corners when this is something you might do once a year? A oil filter is $12.00 at most places and not something I would mess with.

There like 6$ for OEM or cheaper for STP/Fram - I would not clean an oil filer. Not worth it when metal could get back in the cam journals etc.......

I thought you were supposed to change oil once every 4-5 rides. Your not supposed to change the filter everytime? Maybe im mistaken

I change my oil every few hard rides and my filter every other ride; Unless I just rebuilt it in which case I'll do shorter intervals and change the filter every time for a few heat cycles......

Then im mistaken. If i ride about 15 hours in a weekend i can go another weekend then change and be safe?

To each there own. If I ride "HARD" and beat the snot out of it (as I usually do) then I stay up with oil changes. I've never seized a bike, lost a cam or crank or had smoke. And I've owned allot of trikes and bikes............

Based on the 350x engines I picked up (the 86 that came in my 85 and the 85 that came in the tub of parts with it), you can go 25 years without changing oil or filter ...

You're kidding right? Once a year.... holy crap. I change mine after every HARD ride.. If i just ride casual, maybe 2 -3 weeks. MAX. I'm a weekend only rider too.

I use a different type of reuseable oil filter in both my 350X & Big Red, never had any issues.
