My 200 would start right up with no choke on the first pull. One afternoon I let it warm up then turned it off. Afterwhich I adjusted the clutch. Now it doesn’t even act like it wants to start. I would not think this caused it but I don’t know. I pulled the plug and cleaned it, but still the same. I do have spark. The puzzling thing is that was running very smooth before. The only thing I did was tweek the clutch.

It has new plug, air filter, rebuilt carb and fresh gas that is flowing. Could I have an electrical problem somewhere? . If thinking that if I have a spark, then there isn’t a problem with either of the two ignition and run switches. ????

Any help / advice is appreciated.

I'm guessing there is not a neutral safety switch ?
It's been a while but my older trikes WILL start in gear unless they aren't perfectly tuned.
Then the clutch drags just enough so it won't fire. (run)

But if you're sure you're in neutral, it shouldn't make a difference.

Is the plug dry?
Will it try to start with spray start fluid?

I checked the ignition, run and start switches last night and they are all working. I'm not sure if it has a neutral switch or not. I have seen it listed on a couple or wiring diagrams I checked on line. Where would the switch be located? I have not had this long and don't know if it's supposed to start in gear or not.
I checked the plug it looks fine and i'm getting a spark when I pull it (no battery yet). It's amazing this thing can be running fine one day then won't hit a lick the next. I'm stumped. I adjusted the clutch per the manual (back out CCW until slight resistance, then 1/4 turn back CW), I may try this again to see if it makes a difference. The only thing I can guess is that the adjustment may have screwed up the neutral switch if it has one.

Anyone know where the neutral switch is located?

Bump.

I checked the CDI and got good readings on all but 1 connection. From what I read on here, without having a special meter the readings may not be correct. I also checked the resistance of the igition coil and it was very flacky. It would read very high intially for just a split second, then read 0 or OL. I'm thinking it's bad so one is on order. Going to try that first. Any and all comments are welcome.

Oh man , sorry you haven't gotten more advice, or at least some good jokes.

I just got back from a few days away.
You DO know there are manuals for free in the 'world class help' section, right?

It's odd, but stranger things have happened, meaning, altho it seems connected to your clutch adjust,
it could also be complete coincidence.

So you DO have spark consistently?

Some people change wire harnesses only to admit that they prob didn't need them
but it DID force them to check every connection and ground.
Coil to frame nice and clean?
Spark from coil wire without the cap on?
