I just found out about trikefest in Indiana, but I'm in NY so it's kinda far for me. I was just wondering if there was anything like it closer to central NY

I too am in CNY and I would like it there was something like trikefest here. I just dont have the extra vacation time to burn to make trikefest (as much as I would love to go!)... Tug Hill would be a great location, lots of open riding if registered and insured, TRIKES ALLOWED. Timberview Lodge in Turin hosts a number of events during the course of the year. They have a couple of "Mudfest" events each summer. Its mainly ATV and truck mud drag racing. Be cool if they could round up some trikers for some oval racing or something....

R there any hill climbs there or any sort of track?

I have 157 Acres. I would love to host a "get together" FAMILY oriented. NO alcohol, type deal. I realize it prolly wouldn't draw alot of attention, and that's Fine! But reallistacally I couldn't have riding. It would just be a show n shine, swap meet type of thing. All the land here is private,State Police patrol all the time for road riding. Just a dream I suppose! And there's always ONE in every group!! Just thinking out loud! I'm in Ne PA,1 hr S of the NY border.

I know that Snow Ridge ski slope hosts sled hillclimbs in winter, but I dont think they do any ATV climbs in summer. My guess is that it wouldnt happen due to the damage that the slopes would incur if ATV hilllimbs were done there.
There is some sort of MX track in Williamstown, but quads and bikes only on the track from what I've heard.
But, if there was some sort of show-n-shine at say Timberview or any other establishment that would host it, and then a big trike ride that would be cool. There would be no issues of liability as far as an organized trike ride as most seasonal roads in Lewis County are open to ATV,s (trikes included) so long as you are registered and insured.....
Id love to take part in a big 3wheelerworld trike ride in Tug Hill.....I have been riding up there a couple years now and have only seen 1 other trike besides mine and my friend's (member Chillian here). Its funny, because whenever I ride the old R up there, I always get alot of rubbernecking and quite frequently get perfect strangers approach me and strike up conversation.

I don't understand cuz if u have 157 acres then y couldn't people ride??? It's the property u own. Do u mean there isn't any designated riding paces on just the land u own so people would have to go elsewhere??

It would have to be a private place more than likely.Don't know about the rest of you but my trike has no registration or insurance.

I know there are alot of good board members that reside here in NY and i think if we all got togeather and planned a ride for the fall it would be great! In lewiston, right between niagara falls and lockport. I ride in the southerntier mostly but i would love to have something come of this.

I would love to see a trikefest similar event held in upstate NY. Would be great if we could find some one with private property willing to host an event. There is always Rocky Roost in Monterey NY. No reg. or insurance required and owner doesn't mind people raising hell and camping out.

Im game, would love to get together with other trike heads! I know about 10 trikers that would be all over it if someone could step up and put something together. I vote some where that does not require reg and insurance, it would suck to have to reg and insure all my toys just to bring them to an event once. lets get a ny trike fest started before summer slips away!

Guys, if you have owned your machines for at least 3 years its not at all difficult to register them in NY. I dont know how close most of you guys are to the Tug Hill region, but you are missing out on some awesome riding if you never put 3 wheels to gravel there. Miles and miles of seasonal roads open to ATV travel. Not to mention, if you then get a Lewis County ATV trail pass it opens up more goat trails and play areas for use. If anyone is interested in getting their trikes registered post in here and Ill post up the step by step. I have been through it and its not at all difficult, and not that expensive either. (especially compared to a sled reggy fee!) The first reggy is more because you are paying for your plate, after that its only about 14 bucks every 2 years.....And there ARE insurance companies that insure trikes. My insurance is through my local progressive agent. I only pay $82 annually to insure my '85 250r, '86 Q'sport, '88 Q'runner, and '03 Z400. Yes, 4 machines with NYS minimum for under 100 bucks a year. Its not that bad....
