I seem to be plagued with bent front wheels on my ATC90. It doesn't get beat on, so I can't figure out why it happens. I replaced it with another split rim I got from someone here a couple years ago, and now it's wobbling again.
How hard can it be to fix? Just need a new rim, right? So I found a one piece Carlisle 3 on 100 rim on ebay that looked like it would do the trick. Found that the bolt holes are larger, so my old style hub wouldn't center. Back to the drawing board, bought a newer style ATC90 hub that has a centering ring and hopefully prevents the problem with the loose bolt holes. Darn thing still wobbles. So it must be the tire, right? I went to northern today and bought a brand new tire. Not to say that their tires are super wonderful, but should be fine for this machine. The darn thing STILL wobbles! Watching it go up and down is nauseating.
When I was trying to seat the bead, I pumped it up to almost 20lbs. The only thing I can think of is that I ruined the new tire and it's misshapen due to too much pressure. Oh, and there is a tube in it, because the bead wouldn't seat on these oddball rims.
How many hours can you spend on something that should be so easy? :wondering
