I am looking for a good grab bar for my 86 tecate project. I seen this one on ebay and it says it fits 84-86 tecates. I am not sure if that is correct. I contacted seller and he states that its Prm description not his. Just want to make sure it will fit before I buy.

Yea, it'll fit and work great on your 86/7, however I have heard of some people having some problems with these on their 84/5's, It was either the oem or maier plastics that had to be cut to work. If you look at the Tecate picture thread you'll see how it looks when mounted.

i just got a prm six pack rack off ebay for $38 and it fit like crap on my 1986 Tecate. Had to make a notch on one side to clear the frame(or it would not have fit at all), and the bolt holes didnt line up very well. My gas can fell off on the first set of whoops (more testing of the strap needed as it may have been loose, but i doubt it).

Also it looks crooked, and tie downs pulling on it probably made it worse.

I am a dealer of these. Only once did I have a problem on something that a customer bought. Contacted PRM and they BENT OVER BACKWARDS for the customer. Fixed the issue and overnighted it to them! DEDICATED, triker owner/operator of the the company. STAND UP PEOPLE

I had a PRM on my bike and they are super light and VERY VERY strong, Mine broke due to the fact that i got stuck in a whole for 3 hours and needed a jeep with a 9000 pound PTO winch to pull me out and thats what broke the 6 pack but they are very good and not to pricey.

Do the flag mounts hold up on them? We usually run truck flags so strong mounts are needed.

I had to notch it around the boss where the pipe mounts or else it would have never bolted on

Maybe my frame is bent or something...........
