While I was out dump trucking today I spotted two big reds sitting by a fence, so of course I had to stop. While talking to this guy and telling him about some of my trikes, he comes out of the blue and says he has a 84 250r that needs some work. Well we go look at it and the R is complete except for the front brake setup. The rear plastic is junk and seat is ripped, but otherwise complete. And has a aftermarket pipe. Says he would take 250 for it.
I dont know alot about the 250r's so I am looking for a few pointers to check over before i pack this home saturday. Any info or insight would be helpful. Thanks
Sorry forgot to snap a pic of it.

For $250 bucks its worth it in worse condition than you described. Main thing I check for on 2 strokes is compression. Also check the forks, A lot of the performance trikes will have bent front forks. Also check condition of tank sense its a metal tank. other than that it should be a good buy

Forgot to mention that the tank had a big dent in the right side. I have a good plastic tank stored away in the garage. Will check compression sat when I get there. thanks.

83-84 250r's were pretty solid trikes, I can think of any known problems with those years. Get pics up once you get :) another 250r saved
