my 1984 Honda Bid Red 200's lights are reversed. When I throttle up, the lights dim. Including the nuetral/reverse lights. What could be the problem? Something in the stator but why is is reversed

Dunno for sure...seems like it might be a bad stator. Maybe just a loose connection.
either a bad ground or a NFG battery

check all of your wiring connections before tearing into any thing, look for moisture build ups and add new dielectric grease as needed. do you have a spare cdi you might be able to try? Also open the pulse generator cover on the motor is the one that says CDI on it and clean out the red dust. And last but not least check the alternator/ stator before tearing it open.

Whoa!
I just typed in 'lights dim' in the search box and tons of cool suggestions came up.
I'm gonna go read them right now.
